Three Saints' Players to Lookout for on Sunday
Three Saints to keep an eye on when the 49ers travel to New Orleans in week two
In the world of football games, the outcome can hinge on the performance of just a few key players, no matter how the rest of the team is playing. Our focus is on the three players who have the potential to lead the team to victory.
Spencer Rattler
Despite some struggles on the field, he managed just a 59% completion rate and a QBR of 49.0, which places him 24th in the league with seven games under his belt. He’s thrown four touchdowns and five interceptions so far in his career. He may not be intimidating defenses with those numbers, however, the quarterback position holds the power to change a game's direction in an instant. Rattler has demonstrated some flashes of ability with several impressive throws; it’s also clear his teammates rally behind him. If he can find his rhythm, he could lead the Saints to victory.
Demario Davis
The undisputed leader of the Saints' defense, who had nine tackles last Sunday. Davis serves as the heartbeat of the team’s defense. With his experience and sharp instincts, he is a game-changer. With one big play, he can swing momentum. He will need to be a force throughout this game, particularly in bolstering a rushing defense that currently sits 25th in the league, according to PFF.
Alvin Kamara
the explosive playmaker who has dominated for the Saints these past nine seasons, though he had a somewhat average outing with 11 carries for 45 yards and one touchdown. Kamara remains a consistent threat to take a play to the end zone at any time with, both his rushing and receiving ability it makes him a player to watch closely, because time and time again we’ve seen him take over games and this Sunday could be no different.
With Spencer, Demario, and Alvin leading the charge, the Saints have everything they need to come up with a big win this Sunday. Get ready for an exhilarating showdown.
